WizUp is a one-of-a-kind learning and entertainment platform designed for children ages 2-11. The app allows parents and educators to enhance a child’s learning process through age-specific, customizable questions that pop-up on screen while the child is watching their favorite videos.
- Parents select programming from thousands of shows found on kid-friendly channels like PBS Kids, Netflix Jr., and Nick Jr. that will be accessible to the child on WizUp.
- While the child is watching a show, educational questions automatically “pop up” on the screen, pausing the video until the child answers.
- Parents have full control over the frequency and interval of questions, length of each session, and can even set up personalized rewards kids will love.
- WizUp provides a detailed report showing results of a session that helps parents see the child’s learning progress as well as pinpoint areas for improvement.
WizUp was created by parents as a way to help turn their sons’ screen time into learning time. Natasha and Aleem wanted to provide a safe, fun, and educational approach to screen time, while keeping kids engaged and entertained in the process. WizUp allows parents to have full control over their child’s questions and learning, and without the stress of having to constantly monitor screen time.
Because the questions are age-appropriate and customizable, kids enjoy the interactive challenge that WizUp provides while progressing their learning in the process. Children are able to develop specific skills in areas such as math and spelling while having fun in the process.
Yes, WizUp works on both Android and Apple devices.
WizUp is available to download from both the Android and Apple stores.
WizUp offers questions across a variety of subject areas including math, spelling, and reading.
WizUp pulls programming in from many of today’s most popular and kid-friendly shows from channels like Netflix Jr., Nick Jr., and PBS Kids.
100% of WizUp content is pre-screened by both founders to ensure it is age appropriate.
The WizUp app has a 30-day free trial and then offered at $4.99/month, and that comes with hundreds of questions per age group. Additional pricing tiers are coming with the next app update.
WizUp allows up to five children to be on one account.
As of today, there are 250 questions for each grade level that come standard on the $4.99 introductory package. We will be offering packages with additional questions shortly!
Once your child has answered all the questions correctly, they are generated back into the app and start again.
Not yet, but this functionality is currently in development and will allow parents to customize questions to coincide with a specific classroom lesson, math unit, a spelling test, and more.
Questions automatically pop-up based on the interval time selected by parents when initially creating their profile. Parents can change the time if they would like more / less questions during a session.
After each timed session, parents receive an easy-to-read report indicating the number of questions answered correctly and incorrectly by the child. They can further click on the question to see the exact question that was answered.
WizUp allows parents and educators to create customized incentives and/or rewards for the child after correctly answering questions, whether it’s a trip to the park, a new toy, extra recess time, etc. Be creative!
Yes! WizUp’s mission is to enhance learning in a safe way. After the app is downloaded, it is impossible for strangers and unknown users to contact your child.
